'Building Community Resilience to Natural Hazards and Climate Change in Local and Regional Areas (RESILIENCE ACTION ACADEMY: REMEDY)' is funded under the Climate Change Adaptation Grant Program (CCAGP) and is being carried out in partnership with Hacettepe University and the Union of Turkish Municipalities.
The technical implementation coordination of this grant program is the responsibility of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change. The program is managed by the General Directorate of EU and Foreign Relations within the Ministry, along with the Directorate of EU Investments.
The primary aim of the REMEDY is to enhance the resilience of communities and the environment against climate change. Its objectives include increasing climate change adaptation capacity, preserving ecological and social well-being, and serving as a model for regional initiatives. In line with these aims and objectives, the project's methodology incorporates various fundamental approaches, such as participatory workshops and awareness campaigns, geographic information systems (GIS)-based risk and climate impact assessments, the integration of traditional knowledge with modern science, and inclusive strategy development through intersectoral collaboration.
Through RESILIENCE ACTION ACADEMY’s unique methodology, the development of well-informed decision-makers, the formulation of climate-resilient strategies and policies, and the establishment of strong and cohesive communities are supported. This ultimately aims to achieve sustainable and effective outcomes in the fight against climate change.
